Pat on the back 2018

Carole Cadwalladr

Carole Cadwalladr is the finest kind of investigative journalist, fearless and steadfast. During 2018, whilst unravelling alleged funding impropriety, Carole faced a barrage of abuse for excellent work on behalf of voters. Carole, once of the Daily Telegraph but now writing for The Observer, was rightly given the 2018 Orwell Prize for her findings. Carole has since followed up her campaign against fake news and attacks on democracy with unbowed determination to continue to uncover corruption at the highest level.
